NJ Dealer Diesel Inspection

I bought my Thor Palazzo from camping world in Lakewood NJ. They sent (2 years ago) a sticker to stick on the lower right hand side of the windshield. Its a dealer inspection sticker for our DP. It expires this month... anyone know what this is? From what I gather from the DMV personnel, RV (diesel) are not required for inspection...Is this true? What are your experiences with inspection as far as MH go? TIA...

Check with the NJ DMV and see what inspections (if any) are required. If none, it is probably a reminder to get your rig inspected for issues.

Thanks guys... so the dealer inspection sticker was just another way for them to extort money from us.... the sticker looks like the state mandating the dealer to inspect the MH. I do however get the MH looked over at an authorize Freightliner shop. Thanks again.

Asked the same question on the NJ DMV site. Here is the answer:

Thank you for using the New Jersey Inspection Website.

Good morning Glenn,

Diesel vehicles (including motor homes) with a gross vehicle weight over 18,000 lbs require an annual smoke opacity test. The smoke test can be performed at any certified Diesel Private Inspection Facility (DPIF). For a list of DPIFs in your area you may click on the following link: http://njgin.nj.gov/OIT_MVCF/facilities.jsp?fac=deic

Please advise if we may be of any further assistance.
