It seems as though we are falling apart. There are only a few regular posters anymore, and less people attending our Rally's. Many are going to other Rally's. Seems when someone starts an informal get together many want to go. I see few that were with us when I went to my first rally. I feel we need to be more casual, let people willing to do a rally do so. I do not think people do not attend the spring rally, because a Fall rally is in the planning. I have had to much fun at our past Rally's to give it up, but it seems we need new direction. We need positive coments, or we are going nowhere. Other boards Rallies are alive and well. Vet Man

To; Vet Man and Others;

Rallies are what people make them!!

Every get-together can be great for all, but All have to participate in the planning.

I think a lot of people cannot afford the higher fuel prices, and their going to go higher, so are not planning to go distances.
Fixed incomes have little or no flexibility.

Should we plan more local gatherings for fewer people so travel isn't an issue??

IRVer's can still share but with less people..

YOUR THOUGHTS !!

Thanks===== Aime==== AJBJRVERS=====

ABJBRVERS and Vetman have made some very good points and should be considered.

Keeping the initiatives that the original members of the group developed early on that were so successful need to be emulated going forward. Spontaneity, proximity, come as you are and we'll figure it out when we get there are virtues that we're apparent in the early times. Duplicate those efforts you're back on the track to success.

I'm sure that this topic will present itself at the spring rally and I'm sure that only good will come out of it.

The fact that we've exported Nor'Easters to other venues like RV.NET is a good thing because it introduces the other side of the fence to what is available here on iRV2. We aren't funded by a million+ dollar technology budget but we do alright because it takes people to make a website great and iRV2 is a nice place where many of our members feel comfortable.

What I like about our Nor'Easter friends and the rallies we attend. Chatting with people about rving, their families, their travels, their lives. I love the campfires and all the jokes that are told around the fire. I enjoy getting together with a group of people that enjoy the same hobby that I enjoy. And of course the food! Where did we find so many good cooks? I also appreciate the support that these friends offer like when someone is sick, or if you are traveling to a member's area and they offer you a place to park your rig or a phone number in case of emergencies. It's just a great group of people. So Nor'Easters, LET'S RALLY! The more rallies, the better! Anyone ready? Speak up, set one up. We don't have any rules or leaders here, so anyone can just offer a suggestion and do it!

RV rally groups come and go. When we had a Minnie Winnie, we checked out WIT and found it to be too structured for our taste. Some folks want structure, some do not. Some like smaller groups and others like larger groups with more activities.

What I always enjoy are the camp fire "discussion" groups after a nice day and a good dinner among friends.

One thing you might do is to pick a time and a place and post a note letting others know where the party will be.

Let's go rally.

Ken

This is a topic that's close to our hearts (Carol and myself), we haven't always been able to attend every rally but we try to get to as many as possible. Health issues(Carol)and work schedules (both of us) are the prime reason we haven't been able to attend more rallies. At this point in our lives our decision process for attending a rally (which we really love to do)is limited to a spur of the moment decision. That decision for us could come as late as the Wednesday prior to the weekend of the rally. At that point we have to check site availability and if the camping Gods are with us we hit the road. Although we call ourselves NorEasters what we really are is just a couple of folks that enjoy the company and friendship of the people we've come to know through camping/RVing&fishing. Several years ago we met many folks through the Bass Fishing Home Page where rallies were planned several times a year and our experience with those folks was just as pleasent and positive as our experiences with with all our friends here at iRV2. It's somewhat obvious that if you try to put 10 - 50 families and their RV's together for a weekend rally there is a real need for organization at the very minimum to plan the logistics. If however that same size group "just happen" to show up at the same place at the same time there maybe some confussion but a GREAT TIME will be had by both groups. We NorEasters as a group really don't ask for much in order to have a good time, a warm fire, some food (OK lots of food), some friends to share the fire with, some food, reasonble weather, some food, and the occasional cocktail of choice and we're a pretty happy bunch. For some of us (maybe many of us) the current economy (gas/fuel costs, health & job situations) will dampen our spirits and alter our decisions on whether we attend a rally or not but we will all know that if we're lucky enough to arrive at a rally we'll be met by and welcomed by our NorEaster friends. OK I'll climb down off my soap box know. See You Soon (we hope) Ken & Carol

I feel as though I am a die hard Nor'easter and my thoughts are this.We are made up of many walks of life,with differant ideals and opinions on any givin subject.We share a love of rv'ing and comeraderie that comes with it.My thing is to have as much fun as I can without hurting to many people along the way. Its gonna be hard to emulate the first couple of outings ,cant ever.I have a hard time saying no to any get together or rally,some are awsome ,some are okay and some,well I wish I could go back and fix,some others feel that way too.(you know who you are ).Point is it doesnt matter,what happened before the next one will be great.I dont agree with some ,but oh well,some dont agree with me.I know I miss you guys all winter and cant wait to hook up again.I have felt this way since we started with you guys.Politics suck.Because we talk about the Fall doesnt mean we dont care about the spring,it means we are so excited about camping,that we wander aimlessly on these boards trying to find another adventure.Remember the first time we all met one another,wondering if you would like camping with this group,most stay and some go.I would even take bets with Karen on who would come back and who wouldnt.Been right twice.Life's funny and camping is even better.See you at the spring,fall and everything in between rallies.

I won't repeat the same feelings as what Frankie has stated he said it all for us. Its a fun group people work hard to make it that way and we, Claire & I couldn't have found better friendships. Another group we belong to has problems with ageing members and the gas and distance too. We both have decided for our 50th year we will go to as many rallies this year to be amongst friends Nor-Easters included because who knows what the future will bring. Friends in life come and go but a group servives because of the good people within it. "007"

What has been said is what makes the Noreasters what they are. We may disagree and have in your face confrontations. But after all is said and done we have a H--L of a good time. We have now cleared the air and we will have a great Rally. See you all soon...

What they said.

Now, I happen to know several of you put out feelers for the chance to run a Fall rally. Put out the dates and the place. Who knows, maybe we'll have a few smaller ones, with the gas situation.
I think this site allows polls, also if you want to get an idea of who all would be able to come. It may not be big numbers as we all watch our budgets..but it's not about big numbers.
Enjoying Disney..gosh, the Grass Roots just celebrated their 40th anniversary (they announced it in Epcot tonight). What does that say about those of us who rememberr when they started LOL.

Yes, that's just what I was thinking (Ok, so that wasn't what I was thinking..but I am now..and when we chat with others in the line to get into the next show, I plan on passing on what you said. Gave me food for thought!). I just love the way you see the glass half full. Thanks for the reminder that that is just what life is about!
