NYC

We're heading to NYC soon and will be staying at Liberty RV Park.

We will be there for two and a half days. Should we take a bus tour or just explore ourselves. We've never before been to NYC.

If tour, which one is the best?

We highly recommend Liberty Harbor RV park - easy access in a nice part of town (Jersey City) with lots of places within walking distance to eat etc. It's a short walk to the subway (5 blocks?) and a short ride to World Trade Center. From there it's easy to get anywhere in the city. See the new 911 memorial and WTC if you haven't been there - well worth the time and money. Although we didn't do a bus tour (almost did, then decided to wing it) - there are a number available and the folks at liberty harbor have the details and could probably point you in the right direction. Good luck and enjoy the Big Apple!

The Red Bus double decker one is fun. You can get on and off thru out the city plus it gives you a lay of the land. If you find an area too explore get off the bus then you can jump on another after your done

You can grab a ferry right by the rv park (I believe it takes you to Wall St), or as someone else said you can take the PATH to the WTC stop. There you can see the Oculus (haven't gotten a chance to see it since it opened last year) the 911 memorial, 911 museum (both are not to be missed) and the observation deck at the freedom tower. Those sites alone will take a good part of the day. From there it's a short walk to Chinatown and Little Italy for something to eat. You could then spend day 2 uptown visiting Times Square, Empire State Building, Broadway, Intrepid Sea Air Space Museum etc. Can't help with the tour busses as I've always done my own site seeing.
