Yes he knows better..but he did it anyway. Please keep my nephew in your prayers. My nephew threw gasoline on his campfire last night. Yes, he knows better. It was just a little left in the can. I'm sure he wishes he could take it back. It did just like they show you it does when they tell you not to do it. Traveled right up the path of the gas and kept going, and burned his arms and face (his eyes are ok). He was brought to the hospital and then down to a burn center in southern NY. He was with other families, lots of kids including his own, and of course that's scarey for them to watch.
We all know not to do it...as did he. He sure wishes he didn't.
They are hoping he'll be in the hospital only a week..if all goes well.

Doris, Carol & I will keep your nephew in our prayers. I'm so sorry that it was he that had to give us all a wake up call.

Thanks guys. The update we just got, is 2nd and 3rd degree burns. Looks like so far he will need a skin graft on his left arm. His face it totally bandaged..can just see his eyes (they texted a picture home to my sisters (his daughters are there), so the girls could see that he really is ok. The kids are really worried of course..but even with his bandages, they were happy to "see" him. They said the next 48 hours is the most important as they continue to scrub at the burns and watch for infection. Everyone is just trying to figure out who should go down, who should stay home. His wife is with him, without her car right now (he went by ambulance, and she went with him)..and everyone is running on little to no sleep.

Doris...
I can remember watching someone do something very similar last year...and remember thinking that he was lucky that the fire did not follow the fuel back to his hands.
May your nephew have a very quick and complete recovery.

Oh Doris, so sorry to hear about your nephew. We will be thinking of him and sending all our good thoughts his way. We all make foolish mistakes sometimes, so sorry to hear that his mistake was so damaging. I hope he heals quickly.
