I retired December 31, 2009. It is amazing, I can stay up till midnight and still feel like getting up at 7 AM. I think it's what they call one of those mental issue things. Congratulations, do you have a calendar you are marking each day off?

Congrats.

If you're like us, the only way you'll know what day of the week it is will be Sunday as the newspaper is bigger.

For us younger people, I don't think most of us will ever see retirement until too sick or dead. Retirement is something for yesterday's generation. I wished the gov would STOP taking out social security since I'll never see it anyway. I would sign something in a second for the gov to buy me out or just stop it. I'm paying SS something like $500.00/month that I could invest in a 401, IRA or something. Younger people? Hold onto your hat.. Just wait until this 12.4 trillion $$$ bill starts coming due.

My understanding: It is your money that SS people draw on now. If current and future earner's stop paying... it falls apart!

Congratulations Lyn, it’ll be tuff for the first 10 minutes or so but as soon as you get in that new rig and head out you’ll recover fast. Hope to see you two when you get down here on the exploratory trip. Mike

Hurrah! So where's the party going to be?

10 years this year for Gil, and 12 for me (not counting our own small business, since that is fun!). Never looked back, never wished it was any different.
