Hoping we can get some quick feedback from anyone familiar with Vermont to Maine routes.

We are in South Hero, VT currently and want to end up in Bar Harbor, ME over the next 10-14 days, and wanted to know if staying on Route 2 (west to east) has any low bridges that we would not be able to cross under in our 40ft coach? Trying to stay off the major highways and really see the sights, trees changing season, great small town visits etc.....so any ideas on best way to go for this direction is much appreciated! ;-)

Low Clearances Website may be of help. I do see VT has a low bridge on Rt. 2, not sure if you are east of it. You didn't list your actual height, may help.

I ran Rt. 2 a couple years ago from Me to Rt.91, didn't hit anything too high.

After being up there 2years ago my advice is stay on interstate till last part of destanation. We took short cut across to barharbor was two lane road an twisty,no passing an narrow low trees etc,had to pull off an stop during rain storm as water washing over road about foot deep.Took main highway from barharbor due west was two three lane then said construction road was dirt for five miles mud everware,i think that was rt 2 was no other road close.

The Danville one would definitely be on your route.

I tried to locate where I had found that link to give credit, but now I can't find it...I know it was either here on IRV2 or RV.Net, anyway, your welcome...and Al, I agree, the best info is available here.
