We stayed at Fisherman's Memorial State Park this past weekend and enjoyed our stay.
The park is nicely kept, with paved roads throughout, all the sites we saw are grassy with paved pads to park on, and there's ample spacing between sites.
Cell Phone – Verizon is our provider, coverage good, 5 bars (on my phone), your coverage may vary.
WiFi – none
Many of the sites angle upward. Based on services (water & electric) on the left, the RV pad is on an up angle (back lower - front higher). With a motorhome, like ours (long wheel base), I'm planning to bring boards to place under the tires to help with the leveling. I'm thinking trailers and 5th wheels will level easier. Sites 38, 39, 75, & 93 appeared to be fairly level, an RV's leveling devices will most likely handle the leveling.
We seldom, okay almost never, stay at state parks, so were surprised by a few things. Not a bad surprise, just things it would have been nice to know about and prepare for ahead of time, instead of searching once we got there.
When we arrived at the entrance we were asked to show a copy of our reservation confirmation from Reserve America. Then we were directed to the first building on the right, to get our camping permit.
To get your camping permit, we needed to show the following papers:
- Reservation confirmation
- Driver's license
- Vehicle registrations, for each vehicle we were bringing in
- Pets (limit 2) we need to show their vaccination records and their license
So you'll want to have your stuff handy.

George... I think they've changed their check-in procedure somewhat now that they are letting ReserveAmercia handle all of their reservations. I'm going to have to make sure I've got Abby's vaccination records and license when we go next month.
