This morning,a few minutes after leaving the rig to go shopping we received a call advising us to return to the campground. The following pictures depict why. An old oak, some 80 feet tall was blown over by strong winds and gusts that were forecast to be near 60 mph.

Although there is considerable damage to the rear end, roof, slide and ceiling all systems are working and the front end is livable so we are set until the insurance company gets here Monday.

Thank goodness we are with RV'ers, the offers for help are unending.

Mike, Thank God you guys weren't inside when it hit. From the pictures it looks like you'll be shopping for a new RV next week. Good Luck. Carol & I will keep you both in our prayers.

Mike, Linda,
Sorry to hear of your misfortune. If you need a place my mom is in Hudson, she has a 3 bedroom house I am sure she wouldnt mind the company, I am not sure how far from there you are? Let me know if I can do anything.

So glad you were out shopping! It's the same area on the trailer where the tree hit ours, and I remember that sinking feeling well. It's when you really realize insurance is a good thing. Not much to offer in the way of help, but know you are being thought of. Again, so thankful you weren't in the trailer..scary to look at it. Is that your kitchen/front room? Oh man, I'm glad you weren't at home.

Tom..it's amazing what they can fix. Ours took a new roof, new back cabinets, a couple new lights and window treatmens, air conditioner tubing, a new back cap, and we were back in business. Although, as I look again, at the slide, and it looks like two sets of cabinets and tree all over the place..I hope they make a nice settlement and Mike and Lynda are on their way shopping.

Are you still at Ocala Ranch???

We had high winds here but I rarely, if ever, park under trees. I don't like the tree dirt and sap.
