Yankee Swap
We'll have this following our pot luck Saturday night. Please sign up below, so we're sure we have enough interest.
For children: Do you want to do one for the kids? They can swap candy, a game, whatever. If we have enough kids sign up, we'll hold theirs first. The kids one won't be limited to one per rig, but one per child. What limit is everyone comfortable with? You can private PM me suggestions for that. Obviously we don't want it to be costly, since if you have more than one child it would add up.
For the adults: Please bring one gift per rig and keep the cost under $10 (if you decide to go over, that is your choice, but expect you may win a gift valued under the $10). For those not familiar with this, we do ask that the item you are trading be new or very next to new. Item should be wrapped, and newspaper wrapping is fine. Camping items, an item from your area, candy are some suggestions...any item will do. There have been some unusual items in the past, and we've had our share of 'fighting' over an item (and you are not allowed to hold a child on your lap and tell them to cry, if someone tries to take your item LOL).
Each player will get a number from one up to the total number of participants. Each person gets a crack at picking a gift according to his or her number as I call out the numbers. The person who picks the first gift opens it to show it to the rest of the group and sits down with item held where it can be seen. Then the number two participant picks a gift to unwrap and keep it, or swap with an unwrapped gift. The game goes on until everyone has had their chance and then the first person who went has the choice to either keep their gift or swap it with anyone elses gift, since they didn't have a gift to swap.

We're in. I'd prefer the kids not be. I can just see the hurt feelings and fighting if someone wants what the other has and the first kid doesn't want to give it up. The kids all get along so well now, why risk ruining it? It also more difficult with the wide range of kids ages. My 2 cents, do as you wish.

That's fine with me..that's why I asked . In the past parents had asked if kids could have one, but I could see that it might not work for all. So, if others feel the same (and no one else had posted, so they may), we'll just stick to the adults. Heck, even the adults sometimes want what the other person got LOL!

Hi All,
Hey Glen unless someone found new ones, I think the lobsta undies that were mentioned were from a rally in Odeta Ct! I still have mine, not to sure who else does?? Sure hope weather gets better, has been cold & windy here, now rain for next 4 days! So hope all the bad weather is over with so we have clear sailing for the rally!

Yes, Al is correct, I do not have in my possession a pair of the "undies" (aka boxer shorts) with the lobstas. I only have pictures of them being modeled! That's what I need to find, the pictures. Maybe those who still have them will do another modeling session?
The long term forecast from the the Weather Channel is showing weather in the 70's next week for Brattleboro, all the way through Friday 5/21 except for showers on Tuesday. Hopefully that forecast will stick.
In regards to the Yankee swap, I will only throw a fit (you may not want to see that) if someone takes away something I really, really like. You might want to check with George as to what happens when I throw a fit....
