Sorry for the very short notice, but we decided at the last moment to take the rv up to James Island County Park for a week. We arrive Thursday the 9th and will depart on Wednesday the 16th. If anyone wants to stop by or join us we will be on site 113.
Needed a break, the wife made me paint the living room, family room, kitchen, and 3 hallways. Too much like work!

We're here now at the Mount Pleasant KOA. We are parked facing the lake and it offers a nice view.
Take a ride over to Jack's Cosmic Dogs in Mount Pleasant, route 17 on the right for lunch. Lots of construction going on on Route 17 from the GA border to after Mount Pleasant.
Big plus in this area is that KOA has CATV but that said DTV reception in this area is very good as well.

Cosmic Dogs, now that's a place I've got to experience!
I was planning on traveling route 17. We are in no hurry but would you suggest avoiding 17?

I went there for lunch today before leaving the Charleston area. I had a dog w/ kraut, chili, onion and mustand! They have a go zillion variations left up to your imagination. The hot dog is very BIG and so is the bun so don't go ordering 2 unless you're really hungry.

Go ahead and come on in on 17 from the GA border. Construction - "Yes" but no major tie ups. You're going to James Island so you're south and west of the major construction. If you're coming from the West come down I-26 and you'll be OK. Take the I-526 South "Toward Savannah"
You need to get on 17N at that point and make a right on RT 171 "Folly Road." Go down as far as "Camp Road" and make a right. Just a little tight but you can handle it. Follow the sign for James Island Cty Park. We had to walk into the office to register and it's not like a camp office where it's just a few steps away.
If you have a puppy dog, it'll enjoy having its own beach!

No, don't you know that WORK is what you do 50 weeks a year so that you can rest up from your 2 week vacation
Been there, Done that, Now full time. though we are in UPSTATE SC.
If you are ever over by Seneca, there is a little county park (South Cove) just north of town. (Actually within the city limits) not a lot of sites, but very beautiful mixed 30/40 and water, no sewer, no wi-fi, no cable, dump station. Winter rates (Change next month 12/night.

Yes, we went to Cosmic Dogs. Not bad, but the best we have had anywhere so far is at Hot Dog Heaven, in Ft Lauderdale.
