At Stephen Foster State Park in White Springs, FL, Christmas 2012 is just around the corner . . . at least as far as campground reservations are concerned. The reservation window for Florida State Parks opens 11 months in advance. This means that reservations for December 2012 are now available. In fact, due to the attraction of the Christmas lights, some sites have already been taken for weekend dates in early December.

Jo Ann and I had a good time last December and have decided to do it again this year. We plan on arriving Wednesday, Dec. 12 and departing Monday, Dec. 17 and will be on site 6. Feel free to join us for all or part of that time.

Eleven rigs showed up last year and it was a very informal and fun affair. The Christmas 2012 Meet, Greet & Go Eat get-together should be the same. The Christmas lighting display at the park is outstanding as was the buffet at the local hotel. Some of us who shall remain nameless did the buffet two nights in a row. Horse drawn carriage and wagon rides are available to view the park’s lights after dark.

I know this is awfully early to be thinking about next Christmas, but the campsites get booked early, especially on the weekends in December. If you think you may want to join us, now is the time to reserve to avoid being disappointed. And don’t forget: Florida residents age 65 and over get in at half price!

And as a note to anyone new to this forum, this get-together is not limited to Florida Cooters. I have linked this announcement to a couple of other camping forums that we have camped with. It's all about just getting out and meeting other folks with an interest in RVing. So if you're reading this but haven't made up your mind, why not make your reservations now at Reserve America?

Hope to see you there!

Looking forward to seeing you again! And welcome to iRV2. You'll find a friendly bunch of folks here!

I plan on making any announcements about the MG&GE here, rather than trying to maintain information on multiple forums.

Now we have eleven rigs and counting. That matches our count from last year and this is only January! I just checked the Reserve America website and there are only about seven sites left for that weekend.
