The Boomers and Cooters had a number of rallies at Rock Crusher RV Park in Crystal River over the years. It was bought a few years ago by Elite Resorts and has now been foreclosed on. Ownership is expected to revert to the lender and previous owner. Here's a link to the story: Chronicleonline.com: news, sports, classifieds, real estate from the Citrus County Chronicle

I see that Elite Reosrts was fast at removing from their website. I did find a You Tube Video that I think is of the park. Is this it?? I think it is a diamond in the rough - if it is the correct park!

The video is of the right place. However, the pictures don't do it justice. When operated by the original owners, forget the 'rough'. The place was a diamond. It used to be ranked as one of the top 50 campgrounds by Trailer Life. The new owners bought the place intending to sell off the sites and make a quick buck but the economy didn't cooperate. Hopefully, the original owners can bring back some of the original luster.

Just to add to the above, Mike and Sandy have indeed worked their magic, (not mention their butts off). As I type this, I am camped at Rock Crusher, and enjoying it thoroughly.
I cannot reccomend the place highly enough.

That looks like a very nice park. I hope someone picks it up and continues its operation.

A fellow member from another forum is staying there right now and speaks very highly of its condition.

Not sure about the top 50 of America but we did stay there at about the time of the take over. The stay was enjoyable. The neighbors were friendly and the activities were great. The best thing was it was close to "The Freezer" restaraunt. Best shrimps ever!

The wife and I have been staying at Rock Crusher Canyon since Dec 26 It is not as depicted in their pamphlet
Some of the people staying there are friendly enough, But there are a few old fuddie dudies staying here including the managers that can't seem to mind their own business
Their brochure claims to have dog walking trails. They are closed. They claim to be pet friendly, but you don't dare leave your pets locked inside your rig while you even go out to dinner or some of these old bats call the office and complain about your dogs barking. If people would just walk past your site and if the dogs bark continue walking instead of stand out front wondering if everything was all right (mind their own business) the dogs would stop barking as soon as they left.
They claim to have amenities here but if you even try to leave your pet inside your trailer with the windows closed blinds drawn you are considered as leaving your pet unattended.
As it stands right now we have gotten our final warning that if anyone complains about our dogs barking again we will be evicted, this essentially traps one of us in the trailer at all times. We have moved our truck out and set up behind the trailer in the woods and heard how our dogs react to being left alone, they only bark when someone makes noise in a close proximity to our rig and if they keep walking they stop shortly after if they hang around the dogs make noise, that's what a dog does protects it's territory.

My recommendation would be if your a pet owner find another park. We're looking for one now.
