Good Morning All Cooters,

It has been a long time since I last checked in or met up with the group. I often think of the old Boomer gatherings and who has come and gone. Now I see it is Florida Cooters. I will have to get rid of all my pink birds.

I see Cheryl and Rick have had to make some economy changes like many of us and would truly miss their enthusiasm and smiles. I hope they are doing well. I also send best wishes to the Captain.

SInce my last report in Oct, I think, Barbara's Mom is cancer free and my Mom and Dad are doing as well as can be expected in their mid 80's. I may have to soon take the car keys away from my Dad. That is ironic, I remember as a teenager my Dad taking my driving privileges away. Oh well, it is for the best intentions and his and safety of others.

I am still working the contract for the Navy that is scheduled to be completed Dec 2010. I celebrate one year with this company and have now accumulated some vacation time I can use. The motor coach has been put back on the road for weekend trips and we had a shake down run last month for a few days down in the Ocala area. We plan to do a trip somewhere every month so we can get back in the groove of things. Our next trip is going to be to Tampa weekend of 22 Aug. Plan to stay at Rally park and use up some free camping coupons we were given years ago. Hopefully, we can meet up with some of the old boomers and meet some of the new cooters in coming months at a gathering somewhere.

I see the Appalachian group is planning a fall colors rally in Dillard. Is anyone thinking of going to that rally? Barb and I are planning a 7-10 trip somewhere up in that area and this may be an opportunity to get a group gathering together. I have a friend who will be heading down from UP in MI for the winter and we want to meet up somewhere to take in the color changes and some of the festivals up there that and the following weekend. Our friends are Jim and Chris from Alaska and MI and would fit in very well with this group. You have Gold Rush Days in Dahlongha, Festival in Blairesville and the North GA Fairground Festival all during that same period.

Now that we have the coach back on the road and the homefront stuff is quiet at the moment, hopefully I can check in here more often.

Take care and safe travels to all.....

Jim & Barb

What days are you going to be at Rally park?
River-Vista is a great park in north Georgia, we had a Titanium rally there and a great time.

Jim and Barb,

Good to hear from you folks. Whether it's old boomers or new cooters, it's still the same bunch, only less of us, it seems.

I think the Appalachian Campers rally in Dillard will be a fun time. We would love to go but will just be leaving the balloon festival in Albuquerque the same day the Dillard rally starts. We were also at the Titanium rally with Jim and MJ in 2006. Great resort, great amenities, lots to do, and Dillard House. Whenever the Appalachian Campers and Florida Cooters get together, there's always fun.

Hi Jim,

We are just going down for Friday and Saturday Night. We have only stayed there one time. We occasionally stayed in Crown Club area when our coach was newer and needed work. Have to buy a new Country Coach to be able to belong to it now. No thanks. Besides, I have a book full of coupons for free nights at Rally Park they gave me when we purchased our coach. May as well use them.

This will be another shake down run for us. I am going to try and get there early enough on Friday to run over and talk to the guys at Creative Coach about doing some HDTV and other electronic upgrades on our coach sometime in the fall. They are locate about 20 miles up I-4.

WHile there we may enjoy hitting Ybor City to go to Columbia Resturant and then one night at Shells maybe. Come on and join us at Rally Park.

Called Rally Park today, no reversions needed as this is there off season. Rate 24.99 + tax, 10% off club Lazydays members. We will be there Friday, any other Cooters Boomer's?
There is a good local seafood restaurant in Valrico, Willies. Local non chain open Tuesday - Saturday.
Shells has closed most of there restaurants.

Don't know if there's any interest in trying to get sites close to each other but we asked to be on site 267. Rally Park won't guarantee particular sites but says they'll give preference to those who make reservations (we did). They just request a CC # and won't charge your card unless you don't show up and don't cancel. The sites around 267 are on a dead end circle making for an easier back in for us fiver folk.

We are planning on coming in on Thursday and do some family visiting that evening. If you come in on Friday and want to be in the same area, tell them you want to be near us (we may not end up on 267 since they don't promise specific sites).

Hi Dave,

We got the same response, but did request a space close to the club house with our Country Coach. We will see you on Friday.

Hi Jim & Carol, It will be great to see you two. It has been awhile. Looking forward to enjoying the weekend there.

BTW we made reservations yesterday for the Rally at River Vista in Oct. We plan to arrive there on 9 Oct and depart 18 Oct. I have reserved two spaces. They put a couple of rows over from everyone on spaces 560 & 568 due to size a space availability. I have a friend that is coming down from the UP in MI and is going to try and meet us there. Great couple, Jim and Chris Cook. They are full timers.

Hay Dave (Sydney made me say that) when you check in on Thursday just tell them you have three friends coming in on Friday so they can assign sites in the same area. Sydney will be with us as it is our weekend to babysit.
