Bill & Juanita,
I think you're preaching to the choir here. The Appalachian campers and Florida Cooters/Boomers have had a couple of rallies at the Meadows of Dan Campground over the years. It's one of our personal favorite places to stopover for a few days when we're in that part of the country. And I can never leave without going to Nancy's and stocking up with a few pounds of fudge (eaten in moderation over a long period of time, of course).

Not sure which eatery you were talking about. But the young couple that took over the restaurant (the one that used to be the pie shop) are working hard to be successful. Their bbq is an interesting mix of tomato based sauce with just a touch of North Carolina vinegar sauce. He gave me a sample before I was willing to commit to a meal and he sold me on it.

Just up the road on the BRP is Mabry Mill where there is also a small restaurant that makes good lunches.

I think Meadows of Dan Days is the first weekend in August. Lots of activities and fun things to do during that event if anyone is in the area.

I'm envious you found it so quickly. We had been RVing for about five years before we found out about MoD. All those missed opportunities to buy fudge....
