Hi, Boomer Clan,
At the New Years Rally, it was mentioned that there is no place to have a potluck at Hillsborough State Park. If you want, we would be pleased to host a potluck at our home in Lakeland on Saturday, January 19th. We live in Lakeland, probably a 30 to 45 minute drive from the park.

Let us know what you think of this idea, please. No offense taken if you wouldn't want to drive that far.

Sounds like a good idea, Mary. However, Jo Ann and I can't make it as we are planning on heading over to St. Pete on Saturday to see the grandtwins.

Count us in for the Potluck. We're also willing to drive others with us since we've been there.

Thanks for hosting this. Cheryl is in recipe development mode and could bring Cappuccino Cheesecake and Chicken Caesar salad. Is that OK?

Cappuccino Cheesecake and Chicken Caesar salad sound great to us. I'm wondering if we could trump the grandchild card by making homemade ice cream for Dave and Jo Ann. Probably not.

Marty & I aren't going to be able to camp but might be able to run over to your place in Lakeland and do the pitch in and visit? Not sure yet His mother is still at death's door and things are crazy here.

Larry has agreed to grill his famous country style ribs for all! We'll also chip in paper plates, cups, etc. and ice for all. We should have plenty of water for those who want that, otherwise just bring your own beverages and a dish to share.

Let's start early, around five, as it is pretty dark by six.

Let me know if you need directions to the house. Den and Roe from Nature's Resort (Jan 2007) are planning on coming, too.

We will attend the pot luck -- sorry it took so long to get back to you. We will need directions -- ya know, the old timers thing -- can't remember how to get to your home. Looking forward to it!!

Thanks to everyone for bringing such great food and fellowship to our home last night. Hope the drive back to the campground was uneventful for all. Am enjoying being warm inside today - brr! outside.

We have some sad news. Terry and Linda left for home late this morning. Terry's father died unexpectedly last night. He had surgery for an aneurysm on Thursday and his kidneys failed. Our thoughts and prayers are certainly with them today as they travel back home and make plans to go north to honor Terry's father and support his mother.

Mary and Larry deserve lots of praise and hugs for the wonderful ribs and opening their home for potluck. It certainly was rainy and cold outside, but the food and company was warm, friendly and fun.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Terry and Linda. The death of a parent is always hard, but seems even worse when it's so unexpected.

Cheryl
