Last year's St. Patrick's Boomer Rally in Savannah was such fun we've decided to do it again!

Savannah has the second largest St. Patrick's Day parade in the country and this year it will be on Saturday. We will likely take a chartered bus into Savannah from the campground like we did last year. The parade and festivities are not to be missed.

Here's the rally details:
Dates: March 14-17, 2007 (Depart March 18)
Location: River's End Campground & RV Park on Tybee Island
Campground telephone: 800.786.1016
Camping rate: $45 per night less 10% Good Sam or AARP

Campsites go fast around Savannah during St. Patrick's Day. River's End advised us they still had a few sites available as of this post. If you think you want to go, make your reservations right away. The campground requires one night's deposit and there is a three day cancellation notice.

Here's who's going so far:

1. Kissimmee Kids (Rick & Cheryl)
2. Tom & Dee
3. Newgma (Jan & Bill)
4. Jon & Sharon
5. Minnie Me (Wayne & Pat)
6. Roadrunner (Jim & Barb)
7. ...who's next??

We'll keep this post as primary and will add further information here as necessary. Please post on this thread if you're going.

Anyone interested in joining in a campout prior to arriving at Savannah? If so, how about Crooked River State Park, Georgia. From there we can do several day trips to the seashore or Okeefenokee Swamp. I have checked and reservations are available. Cheryl and I are arriving Sunday 3/11/07.
Contact: www.georgia,reserveworld.com or call 1-800-864-7275

jmo,

As a backup plan, you may want to consider Skidaway Island State Park to the southeast of Savannah. Last year they had spaces available for St. Patricks Day until around the end of Jan. While you may not be camping with the wild and crazy Boomers, you will still be close to all the action in downtown Savannah.

Persistence pays off. Barb and I will be there wearing green. Managed to get a site near office. So, count us in for 14-17 March.

Jim & Barb,

Glad you can make it. I'm surprised there were still any sites available.
