We had a great weekend camping with the Slifkas at Findley State Park. The turkey was fantastic cooked over the open campfire! Slifka's arrived before us, and we arrived about 4:00. My wife said that was not enough time to prep the bird, so we had steak on Thursday.

We celebrated Thanksgiving on Friday, Diane and Jodi cooked over the open campfire. The turkey was great! it was really moist and delicious. All the typical fixings were on the table including sugarfree cranberry drink mix for special dietary needs.

On Saturday, Jim, my daughter, and I went to Jamie's Flea Market in South Amherst. The plan was to get a table, play music to the crowd, and sell CDs, tapes and new harmonicas. When I inquired about a table, I learned that I there was no electric available for the outdoor vendors. That almost put the kabosh on the plan, so we then walked around as strolling musicians.

Sunday morning was the first rain that we had all weekend. After breakfast, we had about 1 hour to dry off the canvas and pack up the campers. Got home and re-winterized.

Yes, the weather was on our side. Could not have asked for nicer temperatures and blue skies. In the off season the state parks are nice and quite. There were 12-15 RV'ers there on Thursday and Friday. Saturday brought a few more RV'ers in. The water was still on at the dump stations and the the service garage.

Findley State park had 2 loops of electric sites and one loop of non-electric sites open. With all the leaves off the trees you get to see the park trails from a different prospective.

George lets do this again if your free next Thanksgiving and the weather is favorable. The Slifka's have camped on Thanksgiving in 06', 09' and now 11'...

Here are a few pictures Thanksgiving 2011

Findly State Park is a nice park and is right around the corner from us. We never thought of camping over Thanksgiving but were are now making plans to do it next year. Camping and smoking a turkery that would be a good time!

It looks like you all had a great time & the weather certainly cooperated. Turkey cooked over a campfire sure sounds good.

George, you & Jodi look fantastic. Congrats to you both on your weight loss!

The short answer is: Gastric Bypass Surgery. (this is a tool to get the weight off fast)

The long answer is: A new commitment to a healthy eating lifestyle consisting of smaller portions and high protein, low carbohydrate, no sugar added foods, along with moderately increased physical activity.

We eat a lot of chicken, turkey, nuts, cheese, fruits, and vegetables.
We bicycle, swim, hike, during good weather, and briskly walk whenever or where ever we can.

George

Here is a picture taken at Cook Forest back in 07'. Or here is one of my favorite ones taken I believe at Cook Forest in 06'. George I hope you are not offended.

If you told me back then that at some time in the future George would be a pant size or two large than me, I would say your high...no way...your crazy...My weight has inched up the last year or so and lately I have been working on getting it lower.

I think George passed his lost weight my way....
I definitely don't have to worry about the wind blowing me away.
And I don't need sandbags for my truck in the winter either....

"32" been flirting with 33's, but DW has been hinting about me putting on a few pounds this summer. So I'm working on wrangling in those 32's....

Okay then.... so for all intents and purposes, I believe we're the same size right now. And by the time you're back in those 32s, maybe I'll be in 32s too!
