It's official, I'm now paying more for gas than I did the summer of 2008 when we took our June vacation to Kalyumet CG. When I went to the bank at 1PM today, the station next to it read $3.89/gal for regular. By the time I came out (barely 15 minutes later), it had changed to $4.15/gal for regular.

I think I need to leave the coach parked this season. We filled it up last fall when we winterized & paid only about $2.60/gal for regular. I don't want to use up that inexpensive gas & have to fill it up with the high priced stuff!

Prices have been inching up and are now $4.07 in the Rochester,NY area. Went to see Ives Run Federal Campground in PA Monday and prices were $3.97. Ives Run called and cancelled all reservations until the End of May as a lot of the campground is under water. We have set record high rainfall for April and most campgrounds are soggy.

Well, the stations are playing a game with us, that's for sure. Sunday night about 8PM, that local station & the one beside it were down to $3.98/gal for regular when one across the street was still $4.15/gal. Today, they're all at $4.17/gal.

Stange, it PA it's a little cheaper at the moment which is unusual. Here we're hitting the 4 buck mark.

Most of the local gas stations are all at $3.99 for gas and on the way to work this morning, I saw it's selling for $4.02 on the turnpike. Diesel is still running about 20 cents a gallon more than the gasoline. Last weekend I saw it priced at $ 4.19, and today on the turnpike it was $ 4.23.

Oh, for those good ole days of $ 3 dollar a gallon fuel

Diesel & regular gas are running neck & neck here - only about 6-cents apart.

We are currently camping at Oak Lake Campground in Roselawn, Indiana, and diesel fuel is cheaper than gas. Gas is running almost $4.35, and diesel was around $4.00

When I left Effingham, Illinois, I got diesel fuel for $3.69a gallon, and fueled up both tanks.

Update on gas prices as of Sunday May 15. Went camping to West Branch this rainy weekend. Only 3 of 5 campground loops were open, but the park was 95% full in those 3 loops. gas prices were all mostly $3.99, with one or two at $3.95. Diesel was stuck at $4.15.....See what next week brings.....

We were at West Branch as well from the 15 till today...Just got home...
Wet doesn't really describe it....Our site had 2 1/2" of standing water in the rear....and it kept raining...Were supposed to leave tomorrow but I had enough last night when the t-storms rolled through and dumped some more of the wet stuff on us. I've never seen the lake so high as it is right now...Lot of trees under water!
Gas was $3.79 in town (Ravenna) and Diesel was still $4.19; same as it is here in Mentor. Boooo!!!!

It's slowly coming down here around Columbus. Low $3.80's for regular/$4.05 for diesel. Kroger just paired with Shell for fuel discounts. Filled up the Jeep yesterday for $3.51/gal-regular (30-cents per gal savings)

I'm expecting it to go up next week. It'll probably be lowest Sunday night & then surge up so the stations can cash in on the upcoming holiday traffic.

Hey John. I see ya still have the Everest. Weren't you & Jan shopping for a coach this spring?

Yes we were...and i finally made a decision I hope I don't regret; I decided to keep what we have for a while till we see where fuel prices are going. And to be truthful...Hearing the issues folks have with leveling a class A...It kind of scared me off....we camp quite a few places that would be a problem and I'm not to sure we'd want to give those spots up.
I also just plain did not want to put us in a $100K hole. Our truck and 5ver are/have been paid for, for 5 years now...kind of nice having a toy with no payments.
The regret part is; the truck has been in the shop a lot more than I'd like it to be....and we just put new rubber on it. Lottsa $$$$!

Smart man! Paid off is better than making payments any day.

Gas has steadily come down here for the past 10 days or so. Now in the mid $3.60's/reg & just fell under $4.00/diesel.

I can attest to the leveling issues. There's something to say about the versatility of TT's & 5'rs when it comes to the "level" sites we have at our state parks. We do very much enjoy our coach, but we did have to give up a few sites we really liked because we couldn't level on them with the coach vs when we had the Cougar. But it's just made us venture out & find other sites. Don't let it scare you off when you do decide to move to a coach. The pros outweigh the cons, IMO.
