I went skiing (downhill) this morning weeeeee.......Maybe we can ski till our Mohican outing..... They have been telling us about "Global Warming" over the last 10 years, but from where we all live that is hog wash...Our snow totals over the last 15 years have averaged well above the 100 year average.

At yesterdays Olympic downhill ski race, I skied that run back in 03' when I was there with our ski club. Whistler / Blackcomb. The problem with Whistler is it base elevation. Colorado ski areas have an average base elevation of 7000 - 9000 feet. And a top skiable elevation near 12,000. Whistler starts out at 2500' above sea level, and tops out at a hair over 7500'. So the bottom can have rain, where the top is a blizzard. Been there done it

Yeah, I'll bet all the ski resorts here in OH are really booming this year. They sure deserve it after all the bad years they've had lately.

It looks like they shoulda had the Winter Olympics on this side of the continent! Vancouver is supposed to have highs near or over 50-degrees for the next week. That's just NOT Winter Olympics weather.

Today a just bought my new season pass (skiing) that covers me for the rest of this season and 2011 season. Our local ski hill is small by any measurement, but only 10 miles away. Next month I'm the trip leader for a bus load (51 people) to a Western NY resort called Holiday Valley. We didn't take any western trips this year to save all our extra $$$'s for camping.
