Just in case any of the group is interested in hitting one to save some bucks.

I already sent an email to the Mercer Pa. KOA requesting some sites for that weekend.

I just checked the website for the Santa Cruz/Monterey Bay KOA, which is the closest one to us. It's a very nice campground, but $80/night is far too pricey -- and that's a back-in, 30A site. For a pull-thru 50A site they want $94/night. I think we'll pass.

Did you check the free weekend dates of May 14-16? You also have to choose the blue highlighted site types in order to get the free Saturday night. The pull thru 50a sites aren't part of the special camp with us weekend at that KOA.

I checked that SC/MB KOA & I show these sites & prices (I used 30ft motorhome for reservation purposes)
Back in, fhu 30/20a, kid pleaser or funzone $78 (that's $39 per night)
Back in, fhu, 30/20a, location or size $72 (that's $36 per night)
Back in, w/e, 30/20a $70 (that's $35 per night)

When you choose the correct dates & site type, you will see "Free Saturday!" in the Rate* column. Just wanted to be sure you understood the offer before you passed on the opportunity.

Still more than I'm willing to stay at the Santa Cruz/Monterey Bay KOA. Our past experiences there have been unpleasant due to kids running wild all day and loud parties well after "quite time" -- parties which management refused to shut down.

The only problem with KOA is KOA. Charge for this, charge for that, and one more charge for something else. Oh don't forget the Wi Fi !!!
