Post Ole Bull report: Yes George is right, Ole Bull is a very quite / peaceful area. It was an hour and 45 minutes north of I-80. I don't think I saw a gas station or grocery store the last hour traveling to Ole Bull. The route we took 255 / 555 / 120 / 144 offered very nice roads where we were able to travel at 45 / 50 mph. Our sites next to the river were semi-shady. From pictures posted a few years back they must have cleared out a bunch of trees along the river and added fine gravel pads. There was a nice level hiking trail along the river that was very nice. I did a 6 mile hike farther into the back country where I found the trails to be very poorly marked or traveled. The shower build was new in 07' (very nice). The kids caught a bunch of small trout in the stream, but George was held fish-less. Over-all we had a nice 5 days except for the small biting flies. They seemed to bite ya when you were in the sun. Here is a link to some pixs ole Bull Pictures

Thanks for the Ole Bull pictures, Jim. The place does seem to have a resemblance to Clear Creek, doesn't it? Maybe I'll make it there someday.

In the future if you need site info. I have marked down all the good sites for Ole Bull. Just about all the sites will accomodate large rigs, so no problem there. On the way to Cook Forest, George decided to do the "100 Mile Garage Sale", I opted to stop at Kettle Creek State Park for a "look see". I will be going there next year. Their camping is divided into the upper and lower campgrounds. The upper is located overlooking the lake, the lower is about a mile below the outlet dam. Most of the sites in the lower campground butt up to a small section of the creek. At that section of the creek they have a small dam that has made the creek about 100 wide along the camping sites. It's situated in a pine forest. Each site along the river / creek has a park bench. The back of your trailer would be 20 feet from the creek. I'll post a few pictures once we return from North Pole Alaska on the Aug 21st.
