Please bring a Gift Card to the Rally
from Wal-Mart, Target or HEB Grocery Store
to the rally where it will be placed on a Christmas Tree
with a Christmas card containing a personalized greeting or message
from your family to their family.

A representative from the DAV in San Antonio
will come to AlamoFiesta RV Resort on Saturday
to receive our presentation.
.........
We have granted them permission to take photos
of the presentation which they will use on their website
and print in their monthly magazine and other publications.
...
If you are not able to attend the Christmas Rally this year,
but would like to participate in this project,
please purchase a gift card(s) and mail to my home address by Dec 5th
and I will add it with the other cards for the presentation.

This is absolutely a super endeavor Sandy. Hat's off to you for doing this.

One question would it be better to bring several smaller gift cards to help more veterans or one larger one. i.e. 4 $25 cards vs 1 $100 one.

Don,

Thank you, Don. I saw something on TV/FB or somewhere about the families of wounded warriors and it sparked the idea of "how" we can bless them. I pitched the idea to Amber and together we started investigating the potential organizations that reach out especially at Christmas time. We talked to a number of different worthy organizations, but eventually settled on the DAV because we wanted to bless families right here in Texas and the DAV in San Antonio was able to fulfill that request.

I would say 4 smaller amount gift cards. The DAV will divide them up equally between a number of families depending upon how many cards ($ wise) we contribute to the cause.

Sandy

You might put out another post on this to be sure everybody sees it and does not forget to buy their cards!!! I agree--several smaller ($25) cards are better than a large one. I think it might be a good idea to put the amount on the card with a magic marker or something.

Yes, it's on my list today to send out reminders for the gift cards and
YES YES YES
the amount needs to be written on the cards in magic marker
The DAV will be dividing the gift cards between several families so they really need to know how much to divide equally!

Sandy, thank you for doing this. You are such a special lady, always thinking of others, especially vets. Wish we could be there but, you know how things happen.

Thanks again for thinking of the disabled vets.

You, Rusty and, all the Boomers have a MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Jerry, Janell and, Gus.
