Honestly...........
it never fails that the Boomers get together for a rally and it will rain!
I have actually called RV parks in the past and asked them if they are dry and need some rain! It's true! I have ....and we've gone and brought rain to the area!
For the brave few of us who attended the 2011 kick-off campout at Athens this past January............we well remember that it wouldn't STOP raining. I have never in my life been soooooooooooooooo cold and miserable.
But I'd do that weekend all over again if it would only RAIN!
So I'm going to do the
TEXAS BOOMER RAIN DANCE
and hope this forecast is accurate and hope it rains all weekend long while we're at the rally.
I don't think anyone would complain because we've been through one horrible summer with high temperatures and drought.
Sandy

Yep
I seem to remember Buckhorn one year chasing my sat dish down the road while getting hailed on.
Standing in a foot of water at Bandera to unhook to go home.
Watching folks slip & slide trying to get up the hill out of Lake Medina.
The tornado and torrential rain at Palacious.
The mass evacuation of Buckhorn "cause a major storm was coming" forcing us to share a can of SPAM for the pot luck cause thats all we had.
The slime of Reisel
Cooking fish in the pouring rain at Athens.
I am sure there have been others but these come to mind.

I remember every one of those......and another one
Rally in Waco around 2002 when we were soaked to the bone - had NO WHERE to go to have our breakfast so the rv park owner allowed us to use the laundry room facility!
We cooked eggs on the laundry prep table, bacon on the folding table. Served breakfast on top of the washer and dryer. Had to eat in "shifts" because there were only 6 chairs around a small table. And ran the washing machine to clean up our dirty dishes!
That was the rally where one of our rigs decided to set up "across the ravine" - when they awoke that morning, their rig was standing in knee deep water. We had to stretch a 6 ft board across the "lake" to their front door so they could get out and have breakfast with the group!
Wow! What memories!
Sandy

As of this morning Accuweather is still sticking to this forecast. In fact starting Thur the 1st - rain and highs in the low 80s thru the 1st week in Sep.
JUST KEEP PRAYING IT'S TRUE!
Weather map looks like Houston area might be getting some showers today.

It rained at my house for about an hour yesterday and I swear that I heard my yard sigh!
It needs more rain, as does all of this area, but I don't want it to rain on our rally.
I still remember last year at Boerne , trying to unhook in ankle deep water and watching things float under my motorhome. My battery went dead and I sat in the pouring rain waiting for AAA to come rescue me.

Chances are that it will rain during the rally because everywhere we go this year, bad weather (rain equals bad weather as far as we are concerned) has followed us.
1st proof of our effect on the US weather will materialize in New York on Sunday mid day. This is when we are supposed to arrive at Newark airport before flying on to San Antonio. As things are looking right now, a little old Lady called Irene may prevent us from arriving at all, but this remains to be seen. It wouldn't surprise us at all.

Wayne,
According to Accuweather you are partly right and it looks as Ms Spade got her wish cause they have moved the rain prediction to later in the week but are still showing cloudy & cooler temps.
Accuweathe for Boerne Labor Day.
