At the rally in Bandera recently, the Texas Boomers RV Club was presented with these two very special documents approved by the national DAV organization and signed by the Texas State Senate. Our club was recognized for our contributions to the Kel-Lac Chapter 114 office in Helotes towards their annual Christmas fund drive for the past number of years.
Obviously this was a memorable moment for the club and a testament to the generosity of the club members. We are blessed so we can bless others.
The Kel-Lac Chapter 114 has been operating in a small trailer for a number of years helping approx. 30 veterans a month, through a daunting process, to obtain their full benefits for their years of service. Recently, the chapter was blessed with a large manufactured facility that will be re-configured into space that will enable them to help an estimated 60 veterans a month!
The Texas Boomers RV club has adopted Kel-Lac Chapter 114 as an on-going venture to enable them to get the new facility up and running from a basic shell to a fully functional office space.
We will be setting out a donation box for those attending any rally to contribute if they so desire. Funds collected will periodically be sent directly to the DAV chapter.
