Thanks to Sandy, Don and all the workers in the dark of the night for another "best rally ever". How in the world do these rally's continue to get better?
Since baby Dunkette was kidnapped and a cryptic note left sometime during the night...again Judy and I are baby less. Thank you Lord!
We pray all the Boomers had travel mercies and are or will be home safely.

OH NO Baby Dunkette was kidnaped, how awful. On the good side now you may be able to get your money back on the diaper bag and crib mobile You know I thought we saw someone favoring her on the way back to Houston

We had a great week at Burleson and it just got better and better as the Boomers all arrived. Thanks to David and Don for Thursday night's dinner. As always, thanks to Sandy for making it such an enjoyable holiday weekend. I'll sign this so only the LCR ladies understand. And "hi there Mrs. Blackburn." SD - V&M!

This is a rally that will go down in Boomer history. We had a great time,,,,and some people need to remember that revenge is sweeter when well planned.
I am looking forward to the 2010 Labor Day rally and the Texas Boomers 10th Anniversary.

WHAT HAPPENED IN BURLESON
doesn't necessarily stay in Burleson!!
The weekend started out terrible...those who were already at RV Ranch got drenched late Thursday night. Many of us coming in on Friday really got drenched on the road, but as we arrived at Burleson, the flood gates closed up and the sun came out to stay for the rest of the weekend so did the humidity. But we don't let that stop us!
The Elliotts and The Palmers had blow-outs on the trip up, but thankfully no one was injured and they managed to get 'em fixed and get to the rally.
A BIG WELCOME TO OUR NEWBIES
Wayne and Earlene Miner from Texas City, Texas
Dennis and Barbara Armistead from Streetman, Texas
John and Jackie Klusendorf from Flower Mound, Texas
and
Chuck and Linda Linn from Mcalester, Oklahoma
Jerry and Janet Curtis all the way from Kansas City, Missouri
were made Honorary Texas Boomers
FRIDAY NIGHT PIZZA PARTY - Every year I'm not sure we can top the year before, but we did it again! It's an awesome site to see 26 pizzas and 4 orders of cheesy bread delivered PLUS salad PLUS dessert! Yes, there were several boxes left over..but they quickly were heated and eaten for lunch the next day. Nary a single box of pizza was left untouched!!
 SATURDAY MORNING PANCAKE BREAKFAST
All the griddles, griddlers and girdles arrived on time to whip up the best batch of pancakes this side of the Mississippi served with an awesome fruit bowl and juice! Not a better breakfast could have been had in the entire state that Saturday morning!
Saturday Night Mexican Fiesta Supper....WAS AWESOME! Nothing more to be said! Period!
If you walked away from the rally hall hungry,
it was your own fault!!!!
*******************
THE SATURDAY NIGHT AUCTION
Each Labor Day, we hold the annual auction that is not only our
fund-raiser, but our FUN-raiser to raise monies needed throughout the year for all the activities and events of the Texas Boomers.
This was our best year ever
! ! ! $625.00 ! ! ! There are just no words to express my gratitude for the support everyone gives to the Texas Boomers through this annual event! It enables us to finance our website, provide State and Area rally necessities and many other things throughout the year.
None of this would be possible without the countless hours that Don Allen puts into this one event! THANK YOU DON
Also, a special note of thanks to all who bring their items for the auction...large and small, cute and cuter, fun and funny, historical and hysterical.......without your generosity, we wouldn't be able to have the fun we have and the financial ability to do what we do throughout the year!
     :2 funny:
The Texas Boomers are tickled PINK to announce the arrival of our newest baby boomer
S-L-A-M-D-U-N-K (ette)
delivered to site # 29 - Sims/ Jackson
Please see "Don't Believe Everything You Read" thread under Texas Boomers forum
for the proof positive that one never knows what gift will be brought, what gift will be bid on and what will arrive under the cover of night!
A Special Message to the Real Buddy Warren
your presence was greatly missed at the rally this year, however, let it be duly noted that your "gift" was delivered and theatrically opened as expected!
A warrant for your arrest for the proposed charge of battering and harrassment of Madame Boomer will be arriving shortly.
A separate warrant will be filed at a later date dependant upon the outcome of physical examination by licensed medical personnel from CDC and upon advice from legal council as to any and all internal damages that were caused when said recipient acted "spamatically" later at the auction. The said recipient lost her sanity, while wearing the aforementioned "gift", opened a can of , proceeded to eat a BIG CHUNK of it....causing her to lose all dignity while raising $25.00 for the TB fund...thus constituting illegal use of a questionable substance for a purpose of which it was not intended!
As always, we had a ball! If you can't have fun...stay home! Another great rally (and lots of stories for our 10th anniversary celebration)
Thanks one and all who made Labor Day Rally 2009 UNFORGETTABLE!!!

Be sure to check the Rally Calendar (on the teal bar above) for upcoming events of the Texas Boomers!

To everyone that attended, Earlene and I thank you for the hospitality and so much fun that we had. I know we did not fit in that well, but you can assure that "I" will try harder. I know Earlene fit in - after all she's the one that offered the spam to Madam Boomer for $25 that others posted bail on. It was not her intention of making Madam Boomer sick. (I have pictures.)
With all sincerity, thank you all for the great time, and we look forward to making a more gatherings, if you will allow us to.

We had a great time. Thank you, Sandy, and everyone else who worked so hard to make it so much fun. And just in case the new parents still are in denial about whether or not there really was a baby - our big window looked right out at their front door, and we both did see a baby there - and it appeared to belong there. But then things are not always as they appear ............ Diane and Bob

Buddy, don't feel bad. Without your "spamulous" auction gift, the amount would have only been $600! Special thanks to David for his $20 bid on the Red Neck Wind Chime brought specially by Don Allen!
I think we were first out this morning and arrived at Rayford Crossing four hours later. Ted had to clean the carpets three times to get the 108 days of dirt out. We are staying at home tonight and will finish up the with the RV tomorrow and then put it away until November with Mike and Amber.
Thanks to all for a memorable end to a remarkable summer.
