Good day. Being a first-timer we are wondering, will we receive something from someone about the "Wine and Cheese" headline for the event i.e. do we bring shareable wine and cheese for a specific night? Are their group meals (potluck,) will there be something like a central meeting area where we should go to when we arrive or plan to simply reach out to our site neighbors? Any information anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thank
Tim and Leesa Lerchbacker

The MEALS signup page has been posted at: MEALS - 2017 Wine & Cheese Rally

Welcome to the new people!
You cannot post on that list so just reply to the post with what you will bring. If you have any questions you can contact me at barbaraspade@att.net and I will help you. Please bring enough to share with everyone. As an example, if you bring mashed potatoes remember that the last people in line want some of those mashed potatoes too.

Looking forward to meeting y'all at the rally! Before then, would you please email me at sandycreekmore@texasboomers.net so I can have your contact email address to get in touch with you!!!

At the top of this forum, I have posted a topic called ABOUT OUR RALLIES that will be helpful to all our newbies. It will also be included in the welcome packet you will receive at the rally.

There are several other "threads" in this forum regarding activities and meals for the February rally...be sure to check them out for more information.

Don't hesitate to email if you have more ????...we were all newbies once, but it won't take long to get the hang of it!!! LOL

How EXCITING to see Sol Patch performing on Friday night at Hondo's! They are a great duo and the Boomers have hired them on several occasions to perform for us at rallies! They are worth seeing for sure!!!!

Please remove John and Penny Graves. An unexpected event has caused us to cancel this weekend. Our apologies.

Wow, hey all, we will be at the Fredericksburg KOA during the weekend, we head that way in the morning tomorrow. I had no idea this rally was taking place, or we would have planned to meet you all.

We are going to spend the weekend at the Trade Days. And, we are hoping to sign some papers on some land near Johnson City, on the Pedernales River.

I know there will be folks that don't agree with me, but here goes.
Grape Creek is my least favorite winery there. The people are rude and we have never been treated like a guest there. Don't get me wrong, they make good wine, the people are just not friendly. You may get a different (better) treatment by going as a group, though.

Fat Ass is great for some non-serious wines. Gale, the owner, is one of the friendliest people you will ever meet.

Hilmy makes some fantastic wines, and the people who work there are friendly and knowledgeable.

4.0 has a large selection of wines, and the people there are also very nice.

Rancho Pointe uses grapes from New Mexico. There is nothing wrong with that at all, but they are charging premium prices for it. Very Burgundian in profile.

Baron's Creek makes some good wines. A little expensive.

Alexander Valley makes their wines in France. They are very good. We did not have time to visit when we were there a few weeks ago, they have a new tasting room/building. They used to be in a single-wide mobile home!

Those are all that I can remember for now. Safe travels, everyone!
