We had a great campout at American RV in Corsicana.

It was good to see many friends we haven't seen in a while and to welcome the Mills, Evans, and Smiths to the Texas Boomers. The weather turned out wonderful with nice sunny days and crisp cool nights just right for our outdoor campfar and everyone really enjoyed the beautiful rally hall with a huge gaslog fireplace. Of course we had way too much food as boomers always do, and we enjoyed visiting the Corsicana area, card games, super sounding music on our new sound system and even some karaoke til everyone left the rally hall when Don started to sing. Hmmmm I wonder why?

The folks managing the park are great people and made everyone feel welcome.

Pat and I really appreciate everyone that attended and for those boomers that did not make it for whatever reason let's just say you missed a really great campout.

January 2012 Kick Off Campout in Corsicana

was a great start to the new year of camping adventures

14 rigs pulled into American RV Park in Corsicana
despite the blustery winds and temperature drop from the near perfect days just prior to the campout!
BUT
you can ALWAYS put more clothes to warm up
than you can take off to cool down

yes, our cheeks (and other body parts) were red from the cold early
in the mornings , but once the sun came out it warmed up to be a beautiful day in the neighborhood for our first campout of 2012.

It was so good to see some of our "old" Boomer friends
Harry and Norma Nevedomsky
Jim and Dorinda Willis
Dave and Jeannie Baney

and meet some "new" friends

Ernest and Tommie Mills from Tyler
John and Rachel Evans from Flint (near Tyler)
Jerry and Judy Smith from Conroe

Ya'll come back now! We've got lots of trips planned for 2012
so get your calendars out and mark off the dates!

Don and Pat Allen
for all your work to host this event

last but not least ....
hats off to Linda Barrett
for learning to play a new card game
( works better when we teach you with a full deck! )

Hope to see ya'll again soon!
Sandy

Sorry we couldn't make it. Mary insisted on being at sea for her 65th birthday so we took a cruise. So we wouldn't get too lonely we took a few Boomers with us (Wardlaws, Lapoints, and Rigsbys.)

Thank goodness it wasn't to Italy on the Costa Cocordia. I knew some of you were on a cruise and thought the Shodrocks were with ya'll and we had a bit of a panic at the campout because we knew they were planning a cruise to Italy so a bit of concern arose when we heard the Italian cruise ship had sunk. There is more of the story involving Sandy and Mary Palmer that I am sure will be told at the Feb Campout. We missed you guys too but I am sure ya'll had great fun too.

Did you say Linda wasn't playing with a full deck?
