Letter of Gratitude from the DAV

I am working towards getting the Memorial Day Tribute Ceremony video and photos posted for all to see, but wanted to let you know that it was, without a doubt, the most moving ceremony we've ever had.

We were honored to have 3 members of the Texas State Guard in dress uniform present and retire the Colors.

Also in attendance were
CSM Ron McKinnon and
Cpt Bonnie Roman Officer Public Relations
From the 1st regiment Texas State Guard

As well as
Cmdr Louis Cortes, his family
and 5 staff members of the DAV
Chapter 114 in Helotes, Texas.

Below is a letter I received today from Cmdr Cortes:

from: Luis A. Cortes, Cmdr. Date: 05/31/2018

to: Texas Boomers RV Club
attn: Sandy Creekmore

“We appreciate it”

As we in DAV Kel Lac Chapter 114 are united by the principle and comrade’s’
in Arms sacred commitment “No Brother or Sister left behind.” We
consistently persist in that the least we and our nation can do, is to make the life if those that unconditionally offered the last breath of their sole, fighting to protect what we hold so dear “Our pursuit of happiness and liberty for all” is to make their lives worth living.

To share our endeavor and dedication to continuously support our heroes, especially with the members in your organization that have felt the demands weighing on their shoulders when called “Front and Center,” and have contributed as much themselves, we would like to say that “Our Mission Is Not Over until it is Over.”

Mrs. Creekmore. You and your club members have made us realize that our mission is larger than our commitment, that someone out there knows that there is always one more challenge to face…but “we will live up to it.”

We appreciate your generosity with all our heart in the name of those that needed it most, while standing with us until our mission is over or “Peace in this world is forever lasting.”

Your support is the “Wind beneath our Wing.”

Sincerely,
Luis A. Cortes
Commander

I am so proud of the Texas Boomers and their generous, giving hearts to have adopted this worthy cause!

We can make a difference!!!!

One of the reasons that we like the Texas Boomers is because this group reaches out to help others. Their desire to help others shows us who the Texas Boomers really are.

We really enjoyed the program you put together with the DAV last weekend. It was very moving, and I learned more about the DAV chapter we are helping.

Thank you for your leadership in the Texas Boomers. And thank you Texas Boomers for welcoming us into the group.

Allen and Karen Van Zandt
