I received an inquiry below and need some help to answer should anyone in this area have and idea where one might be.............. please post back and I'll forward the information on to him! Thanks!

Sandy

Sandy, I bought a travel trailer and truck and I am looking for public scales to weigh them. Do you have any info as to where I can go? I am in Spicewood, between Austin and Marble Falls. Thanks!

There may be a Co-OP in that area, they all have certified scales. All major truck stops, scrap metal/paper dealers, moving companies.

I saw someone post that the commercial scale houses along the freeway often leave their scales running when the scale house is closed to the commercial trucks. Just drive thru and weigh. Also they will happily weigh you when they are open (at least the one near my home base did for me)

I believe there is a feed mill in Marble Falls. They should have scales.

In general most truck stops and large (Bekins, American Van Lines, Nationwide,etc...) moving companies will have public scales. Also Co-Ops and some local municipalities will have them.

Look up moving companies in the local yellow pages. The scales at moving companies typically are not as busy as commercial truck stops.
