Texas Boomer Christmas Charity Quilts

The Texas Boomers charity project for this year was finished today with the delivery of 62 lap throw quilts presented to the William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home in Temple, Texas.

The ladies of the club started the project at the Labor Day Rally in September with Pat Allen as the project lead. They continued working on the quilts at each rally through the Christmas Rally in early December where they put the final touches on them and wrapped them with a Christmas ribbon and a card from the Texas Boomers. Jim and Marge Roberts provided iron labels with the club's name for them.

Pat bundled the quilts in bright Christmas bags and using her little red wagon provided by the Texas Boomers, delivered them to the Veteran's Home in Temple.

The staff and patients were so very excited and grateful to receive them and promised they would be put to good use. It was heartwarming to see the smiles of gratitude on their faces.

On behalf of Madame Boomer, Pat would like to thank all that took part working on this project. The quilts are beautiful and go to our Veterans blessed with our love and caring.

What a wonderful display of Christmas Spirit - I am so thankful for the generous and loving hearts of all who worked on this project through the months. Our gift of love this Christmas is greatly appreciated by the staff and residents of the facility and will be put to good use for a long time to come!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR
TO ALL THE TEXAS BOOMERS
