If you have young or young at heart people travelling with you, you must try Schlitterbaun water park in New Braunfels. It has been on TV shows like the "ten best of waterparks". Also you must try the barbecue, country music scene in austin is fun, and Gruene Hall is a great spot to look at antiques, winery, country store, etc."Built in 1878, Gruene Hall is the oldest continually running dance hall in Texas, and the Central Texas birthplace to many great songwriters and musicians" A ton of country music history there. Many Golf courses in the area too.

I hope this helps, and I hope you enjoy your trip.

I do not much like Lone Star beer either..........but it is better than Pearl ...............sipping on a Shiner right now...........now that is good Texas beer................

Lots of places to visit in and around Austin. In Austin, visit the capital, Bob Bullock Museum, French Legation, Zilker Park, Mt. Bonnel, Lady Bird Lake. If camping in Hill Country west of Austin, I recommend Ink Lakes State Park, side visit to Longhorn Caverns, and Garner State Park. These are the two most visited parks in Texas for good reason...........enjoy the visit.....................ronspradley

Plan on going down to the valley for a month or two this winter. Any suggestions as to where to stay.
