Just like GoodYear and their well known "rivering" problem! It's not the tires fault.

Mine were the famous Marathons. Replaced with Michelins all around as soon as we could limp into Farmington on the spare and an off-brand the tire shop in Cuba had.

Looks like a racing slick. Sure that wasn't on an old Ford Explorer? That's an old Mud and Snow tire. Look at the temperature rating on it. Was it a B rating>?

That was the 2nd within about a month. The 1st I caught on my way north on vactaion. It had a lump in it about the size of childs football. I was able to get it swapped out at shop in Waco.
But, as you said Firestone said there was nothing wrong with the tires. Mine were all made at the plant they shut down.
I put XPS Ribs on and never looked back.

One blowout in almost 50 years of driving and it was a GoodYear on a Jeep GC that blew out a few years ago.
