Losing a Family Pet is losing a part of the Family.
Over the years my wife and I have had a wide assortment of critters in our family.
Losing one that had been our companion for years was always tough on both of us.
Melissa always would say "no more pets, it hurts to much to lose them", but we always get another as time does by. Mainly because they bring us such joy and comfort.
We've had some real special little friends since we married 17 years ago.
From a Pet Chicken named "Ethel" to the two cats Porcha and Ripley (RV Pros) we have now. (Ethel, a Dark Brahma Hen, lived with us for 8 years and was as smart as any cat I've owned! I can tell stories for hours about Ethel the Chicken. She was house broke too!) (Campfire Stories are the best about her.)
I know our little family critters may not live as long as we do and eventually we may even have to face the decision of having mercy and easing their suffering.
That's the toughest part of it all. It's having to say "It's time to go my friend, I can't stand to see you suffer any more." That takes a Big Heart!
I've allways held them to the end and cried like a baby over their passing. But, my family has always known how special they were to us all the way to the end.
Mel and I mourn with you the loss of Tribble.
Such a cutie! Probably had personality just dripping off her.
