I'm in Austin and we have come to the conclusion that rain in Texas is an Urban Myth

It has been raining in the Permian Basin (Big Spring, Midland and, Odessa area ) all day with temps in the low 60's. Beautiful day.

Well, I did the rain dance the other day and invoked the great god of Rain; Cleanus Autos, however I"m in mid Michigan.. I guess that was one good Rain Dance.
(I washed the motor home, which has been renamed "Poetic" this week, why the re-name, Well this is one of two weeks a year when I "Wax Poetic" cause the next trip will be close to a kilo-mile and a nice fresh wax job makes the gas go farther)

Rained yesterday and last night here in Alpine. Pretty good showers - enough to keep me off the golf course.
It's really been tough getting used to the cool weather and showers in the NM mountains and here over the last month. Tough duty, but someone has to do it.
As Jimmy Buffet put it "The weather is here. Wish you were beautiful"

We got a very light rain for about 10 minutes this morning. Wet the drive and street. Then quit. Just enought to mess up the car or truck driving on it. Going to leave the motorcycle parked for the short term as I do not like wet streets on 2 wheels. Ellen and I did get in a short ride this AM early before the rain.

Seems to me like the only time it rains in Texas is when we come south for the winter. Couple of trips ago, the rains while we were there filled Lake Travis. Remember that one? And last winter, there was enough rain in January to fill the ponds.
