The old Coleman is coming along. Got it patched very nicely, at least til winter when the demand for new canvas is not so high!
1. Lift issues: I mentioned in an earlier post that the previous owner modified the cranking mechanism to work with a drill. Fine, but he also installed a long, long bolt due to some kind of 'gear' that broke in the mechanism. The camper lifts halfway, then needs a push, then lifts some more, then needs a push. The pulleys appear to be rusted, too.
So,should we start with new cables/pulleys or focus on the actual whiffle tree, etc? We're ready to get started but don't know where to start!
Also, any suggestions for getting the screen door hooked back up to the tract in the ceiling? The door is find, cables to hook up are there, but nothing to hook it to.
Any suggestions/info would be greatly appreciated!

Not sure how to help you with the lift system, however I just aquired a 1984 Coleman Columbia from some family members. There are a few holes in the sides that need to be patched. You had mentioned that you patched yours up. What did you use? Where can i get it? Thanks for the help

I got a canvas repair kit - 1/2 yard of canvas + glue. I think you can find it at tearmender.com

I had some problems with my lift system not working... I finally surrendered and had the dealer readjust my wiffle tree and such for about $250...
