Had the same thing happen on our 99' Coleman shortly after we bought it. It was corrosion in one of the socket bottoms. The way the snap-on taillight lens fits on the taillight base would allow water to trickle in between the red lens and the base unit of the taillight. After I cleaned up the corrosion and snapped the lens back on I put a bead of clear caulk where the lens meets the base unit. If I remember right, one of the taillights had 2" of water behind it. And wouldn't you know this happened just before we were to leave on a trip. One note: I spray a little WD-40 into the trailer - tow vehicle connector every few months to keep it from corrosion forming.....
