Kevmac,

Very interesting landscape in your photos. How does it work getting a campsite in Western Australia? Are these public lands and you just stake out a spot wherever you can or are there organized campgrounds with designated spots?

I have been to some national parks on the east coast but unfortunately was only there long enough to get out of the car, see a couple of waves crash on to the rocks and then return to Melbourne. I would have much rather been camping than day-tripping.

in the council area that i am in (and work for) there are quite a few FREE camp areas but these are usually limited to 3 days duration, except for the one where fotos are taken. This area is 7days duration and is at a site called Cosy Corner East ( approx 35kms west of Albany Western Australia). There are websites for free camping in australia, will locate them for u if I can and post here for all . Hope have helped you to some degree.
