Awning attatchment Help

Does anyone know how to re-attach the awning channel to the top of a Coleman Bayside pop up camper? With all of the snow in New England this year the canopy was ripped off from the roof requiring some body work to be done to fix cracks. I'm looking at liquid nail adhesive but I want to make sure I do it correctly. Any advice would help.....

How was the canopy originally attached? I am a huge fan of liquid nail, but if there was a bracket with some lag screws, I would suggest attempting to replace those. I know sometimes this can be a challenge if it has been ripped off before.
