I broke the tip on our Shepards Pole (Holds the upright on the bunk end)....went and bought a new one (tip). I was told by the Parts Dept. that a "screwdriver and a little attitude" is needed to remove the old tip. I brought it home and my buddy sez "Put the end of the pole in hot water, and pull it out with Channel Lock Pliers"....."Drop the new tip in hot water and push it in the Shepards Pole....no attitude needed"....he was right, worked like a charm....my only additional tip....when you grab it with the Pliers to remove it, make sure where you're gripping it lines up with the "dimples" that hold the tip in...just a little wiggle will do it.....when I say "hot water"....boiling hot.
