The bypass valve for my water heater is leaking. The water is coming out around the valve stem. The valve assembly is held in the valve body by a "C" ring so there is no way to tighten the packing. Is this a throw away or can I take it apart and replace "O" rings or something? The whole water heater is going to have to be removed to do anything so I don't want to do a whole lot of experementing with it.

Tim; I am not sure so I am going to link this to the RV Systems area where Mike (RV Wizard) will see it. He is the expert around here I think.

Tim, there should be "o" rings in the valve that could be replaced to hoepfully correct your problem. Good luck and keep us posted.
