I am looking to install a Yakima Rack (three bars).
When I ask the factory for any special instructiions to install the rack, they tell me there are special instructions on where to drill and special "factory parts"....and that to get either i need to just go to my local dealer to have them install the mounts and bars!
Yakima sells a mounting plate for applications where you are going to install through bolts and have access to the inside of the roof (ceiling). Then I add Control Towers and cross bars, and locks.
I can self install 3 bars and six towers with 12 lock cylinders for $280 delivered to me. Coleman wants $280 for just 2 bars installed.
I don't want the aluminum triangle "Coleman" brackets, and I certainly don't want to pay so much.
Do any of you have a copy of coleman "special" instructions? I want to make sure I am drilling in the right location, and that I seal properly....maybe the info shows what type of backer plate (if any) may need to be installed on the ceiling portion of the mounting plate. I just don't think that the Coleman "special hardware" does anything the yakima Landing pad #6 can't, or could do with minor modification.
Do any of you have a picture of the factory mounted yakima mounts from the outside and inside?
I have a 2000 Coleman Sedona with the aluminum roof that has a seam down the middle...i believe the standard before the ABS roof came out.
Appreciate any info...
