Greetings! I have been a member for a long time on this great site, but found myself out of the RV business for some time. I am however back, with a newly purchased 2005 Fleetwood Utah CP.
I have to get used to the minimal space and the pop-up idea, and after a 33' Coachmen 5th wheel, I knew this would be an issue, and all will be fine.
I have a question for other Coleman and Fleetwood owners. My PU has the rails for yakima racks. Can anyone tell me what the landing pad number is that I need for those rails? My dealer is not too forthcoming with the info, since they probably want me to purchase the needed acessories there.
Thanks, and I may have many more pop-up related questions in the near future.

Hey Brian, Welcome back. I tried looking up what you would need, but they don't list campers. I went to www.rei.com they only show a few set ups. If you have a roof rack on your truck, see how close they look. When we got the rack for our Explorer and moved up to a trail Blazer I used the other inserts that came with the towers to make them fit. I believe there are 3 types of towers only and only 2 are for the slides. If you can't see anything on line, find your nearest dealer and pay him a visit.
Good luck.

I am assuming you have only the tracks and no crossbars. You can either take pictures of the rails or take the trailer to your local bike shop and have them look at it. Depending on the rails, you may not be limited to Yakima.

Jim, thanks for the welcome back. I have kept up on the site, and it's amazing to see that it has grown so much.
Thanks for the info, also.
Rick A, yes I will be taking it down to the local cycle shop to see what they have for me. Thanks for the reply

Just a thought....have you tried calling Yakima's help line?
I would think they would have the skinny on the landing pad #.
Check the Yakima website for a phone. I've called them in the past and they were very helpful.

Knute, darnit! Now why did I not think of that? Well, I did, after I read your post , and I called them, and guess what? Two sets of Landing pad #1, and 4 towers, and two cross bars, I am in business!
Thanks!

I'm happy to point to the obvious. Glad I could be of service.
I'm wrangling a way to load a 16' canoe on top of our Santa Fe. Hmmmm, canoe is longer than camper. I have called them for help. They recommended to get the 66" rails, pads and cross bars. I forget the total $, but it scared me. I'm hunting for a reasonable substitute.

My dad rigged something for the top of his small pickup with small camper shell for our canoe growing up. I will call my mom and see what he did. He had no rails or racks or anything, just a lot of ingenuity. I remember rope from the front of the canoe to the front of the truck and rope from the back of th canoe to the back of the truck. He also had foam that he used between the top of the truck and the canoe. I remember it drawing attention at campgrounds and dad talking to other guys about it alot. Sorry I don't have more info, it was a long time ago. Ya know how when you are a kid, things just kinda happen and you don't really know exacltly how. LOL

Check Bass Pro shops. They cary the foam blocks for car topping canoes. Sounds like what you are describing from your chidhood.
