I am an avid fan of PopUp Explored and just stumbled on to your site. Love it! My hubby and I have a '77 Rockwood, purchased for $700.00 last year. We are doing some serious updating on it right now.

Finished:
Added AC Unit
Installed new breaker box with 2 twenty AMP breakers. Wired in new 10 awg 30 AMP main service line. Rewired all plugs. Replaced all plumbing hoses.
Made covers for dinette cusions.
Use Sewing Awl to fix/reinforce all seams in canvas.
Added combination lock to outside - key to door was long gone before we purchased.
Hand-me-down porta potti obtained.
And many more little things...

In Progress:
Refacing all cabinets. This is MY baby. I have removed all old hardware and have new hardware. I have sanded, stripped, primed (3 coats) and am now in the middle of painting with Rustoleum enamel paint in a glossy white. Between each coat I am taking the palm sander to it.

New flooring - we are installing peel and stick tile over the existing lenoleum - as cheap as it is, even if we have to replace it soon, it will be worth it for the knowledge.

New curtains - 6.5 yards of scotchguarded interior design fabric purchased from Ebay to use on bunk ends. Will use 6-7mm buttons in track. I am still waiting to find a solid that matches (and is less expensive) to use for sides.

New counters - we have seen a few ideas for this, but still have not decided which to use...

Porta Potti - we will add a piece of plywood attached to locking coasters. This will allow porta potti to easily roll out of the way and into a usable position. It will also add height.

Privacy Curtain for porta potti. I am going to use small hooks in the ceiling and a piece of small diameter pvc pipe. I will drill two holes in each end of the PVC pipe and thread a wire through, making a loop. The loop will then attach to the small hood on the ceiling when needed. On the pipe, I will hang a shower curtain that is solid on the bottom and clear on the top (1.5 foot at top is clear). This will allow some privacy. Porta Potti will be stored under upright cabinet. When needed, this curtain can be pulled across and potti pulled out.

Any idea are really appreciated. We are going to a music fest in April that we need to be ready for.

Great meeting all of you!!

Welcome to IRV2. I was just reading about all of the upgrading you have done are in the progress of doing. It sounds like a great project. Hopefully you will be able to post some photos so can see your efforts. Keep of the great work on the trailer.

That's certainly a lot of renovation. Doubt you'll be able to call it a "Rockwood" when you're all done!

Seriously, welcome and happy camping!
