improper fix to lift cable in popup?
I am looking for some help. 2 years ago I paid $600+ to have the main lift cable repaired to my popup. (It had frayed and broke.) Since then I have opened the camper 9 times. (We are not frequent campers.) The ninth time, the cable broke. When I looked at it, I noticed they had not replaced the cable, but merely used a clamp to attach the old cable to new cable they attached to the winch. Is this a typical fix?
The way it broke was their NEW cable slid out of the clamp. There is no fraying. I feel this is really dangerous. Any advice on how to proceed? Right now the shop is giving me the runaround because the repair was done 2 years ago. Thanks!
