I planning a trip to Wake Forest NC in October and I am a first time owner of a Classic Flagstaff T12RB hard-side RV. I need to stop overnight near Stanton VA, I read places like Walmart do not allowed deployed popup RV's. What is the popup policy at places like Cracker Barrel and others?

I'm not sure where you read that. I have read that as long as you don't abuse your stay, they have no problem. If you do a search, there are some that do not allow overnight camping, but mainly in coastal areas. Also look at flying j truck stops. They allow free overnight camping as well as long as you stay out of the trucks way. To be sure you can look up the number of the Wal-Mart you are planning to stay at and ask them specifically what there policy is.

You know, all you can do is ask. I don't think it will be a problem with WM management, but watch out for the parking lot police that lurk on here telling everyone the 'rules' for WM parking. If WM does say OK, don't put out a lawn chair or a grill, it will surely bring down the parking lot police!

There are several nice campgrounds in that area. Why wouldn't you want to stay at one of these?

Why pay for ammenities you don't need if all you need is a few hours sleep and get back on the road? Besides, by the time the DW and I get through shopping it usually costs us more than staying at a campground and WM appreciates the business.
