Reserve water tank capacity?

Hello fellow campers. I recently purchased a 2005 Coachmen Clipper Classic 1285st and can’t find “specs” on it anywhere. Wondering if anyone knows the gallon capacity of the reserve water tank?

Can you access the tank? measure outside dimensions and calculate capacity, which should put you within a couple gallons of actual capacity.
There are 7.48G of water in one cubic foot, which weighs 62.3#;@ 62°F.

Ok. So I have a 27 gallon reserve tank. And the weight when full would be approximately 225 lbs. It appears to have only two pipe iron straps across the bottom of it and there’s considerable “sag” when full. Do you believe I should consider adding one or two more pipe iron straps to it? We plan to travel it it full when we are going to boondock.

A hearty YES!!!

Better yet.....
2" angle iron (couple of pieces) full length side to side to fully support the full tank weight.

Here are before and after from another forum

At very minimum.......strap it

I have 70 gallon fresh water tank.....581#
I always travel with a FULL tank

Tanks (fresh/waste) were fully supported by RV MFG at factory....something that is woefully lacking these days!

Awesome idea! I will certainly try it. I had to use a large block of wood and two 1x3 boards to create a fulcrum to safety “lift” that “bulge and got out nearly another gallon on water for a thorough clean. Angle iron, here I come! Thanks!

Question: Aluminum angle iron and steel fastening brackets? Or all aluminum or all steel?

Another way to calculate the capacity of your water tank, 231 cubic inches is 1 gallon.
