Hi All

I have a Popup camper with a roof AC unit and was looking to power it at campsites without power. Can I use a Honda EU2000i to do that?

Any input is welcome including other generators

I have an EU2000i and it won't run the AC on my camper. I've heard you need the 3000.

Note that you can run the 2000 parallel with another 2000 or 1000. This may be the way to go if you only need the AC sometimes. Those trips you don't need ac you wouldn't be struggling with the 3000, which I understand is about 100 lbs heavier.

If you haven't purchased the generator, you might want to look at the Yamaha 2400.

We have a friend who is part of the Nash Owners group who also has the Yamaha 2400, He got it because it will run his Microwave at altitude. He has not had a chance to test it on his AC up that high (6000 - 7000ft) but it depends if you would use it up there. We are also looking for a generator, I missed out on the Honda deal that one of the members here found a few months back, but you never know.

Hi I have 1990 Coleman Sunvalley with roof mounted A/C and a Honda EU2000. It does power the A/C and Lights with fan and Fridge it ran everything and charged the the dual 27 series batteries. It ran 7hrs. on 1 gallon of fuel quietly.I am impressed with this Gen. I highly recommend it to anyone.The Yamaha 2400 is way to heavy.

Depending on the size of the A/C, a 2400 watt is probably marginal and you need to look at a 3000 watt or parallel two 2000 watt Hondas.

You need to be very careful with the ratings and see if they are rated for 3000 watts continuous or surge. If is is 3000 watts surge, you will have a continuous rating of about 2500 or 2600 watts.
