Towing mirrors?

Hello everyone,

We'll be picking up an A-liner Ascape plus in the next couple of weeks and we will be towing with a 2013 Subaru Outback 2.5, which has standard car mirrors. I see there are "clip on" towing mirrors that you can get, which ought to do the trick but I wondered if anybody had any experience with them.

Thanks,
Sandy

Yup, Got a set @ U-Haul for a Datsun pickup.. worked well.(were wide enough that I could see around the camp trailer to check traffic approaching & to back into a camp spot..)

Thank you. I think I'll go ahead and get a pair. Do you have any thoughts on the 1 vs. 2 mirror variants?

Need "flat glass" (no distortion) mirrors on both sides of your tow rig. they will be well outside/alongside of your stock mirrors.

If your only planning on making LEFT ---- or --- RIGHT turns (you decide which side you want your mirror on) then you only need one.

SORRY sarcasm monster bit me

YOU NEED TWO

Haha, thanks. I'll make sure to get a left and right. I was thinking of the one lens vs. dual lens varieties but definitely did not state that well.

Since what your getting is not very high or wide I would wait until you can hook it up and see. Might be just fine.

With our 4Runner we used the ( CIPA 11960 Universal Towing mirror ) Worked very well towing a 8' wide hybrid RV trailer. ( Picture on the 4Runner )

The down side was the 10 minutes it took to put them on each time.

Hi all, I had a family emergency and wasnt able to get mirrors before we picked up the camper 2 weekends ago. It turned out that it is indeed narrow enough that we didn't need them. The stock mirrors were fine when adjusted appropriately.

The only time I wished for more visibility was when backing and I think that the problem was my, ahem, skills in that area rather than mirrors. I don't know that extra ones would have helped much.

Step off 300 feet behind your TV and trailer. You should be able to see both mirrors at the same time. If not then the mirrors need to be pushed out farther.

When I needed strap on mirrors I liked the McKesh.
