12 v electric question

I'm wiring light switches in my trailer.
by mistake I got on on switches...

there are three spades on the back...I'm assuming
the center is power in and the ends are power out

the only problem I see is the lower spades will be hot when the lights are off .. correct????

Don't think of the second ON as going to the same device. The first ON could be a dim bulb and the second ON coould be a brighter bulb. Or a fan that has low and high speed settings.

ON-ON could be used as a three way switch (control a light from two different locations)

Could also be used with some steps or slides

Can also be used as a ON-OFF if nothing is connected to the switch poll.

We used on-on switches, when we wired in auxiliary head lights, on snow plow trucks. They were wired in past the regular headlight switch. Boats use them for upper or lower station control.

Another use for on on would be to wire it after an on off switch. The main on off would turn on power to the on on switch, then the on on switch would switch between a high and low input on the device
