12 v windshield power blinds

On my 06 Executive, the right side power window blind broke at the cheap plastic mounting bracket. I made a temp fix with a hose clamp that worked until later the other end of same blind broke and the unit came crashing down. All because of cheap inferior mounting molded brackets. I can buy new better made or dedicate time to designing new brackets. Antone one else have this problem and what did you do? Thanks

If you look at the end where the tab broke off, you'll see three Phillips screws holding the end cap on. I took a 1/2" piece of tin, about 3" long and made a new tab using those screws to hold it on. I took the tin, folded it in half and hammered it flat. Open it back up and bent it around the end cap, using the screws to hold it on. Drill a hole through the section you hammered flat and reinstall. Your holes will be in a different spot, but use can use one of the original holes.

If your other one is still good, remove the screw and add a fender washer. The plastic just gets old and breaks. Using the fender washer on the good one will spread the stress over a larger area.

Also, cut the wires to the blinds and use some squeeze on quick connect lugs so that it's easier to work with.
